LoOk Ma!! 2 TeEtH !!

Finally by 11 mos, Nickolas is chomping with 2 new teeth!! Yahoo. The Onstine kids generally have not gotten teeth until 10 mos or so, so this wasn't anything new, but it is nice to be able to increase the variety in his diet. How cute is he?!

iT's TiMe FoR a KuT

Check out my new doo

just getting started...

Well it was finally time for Nickolas to get his first haircut. Not desperate but certainly a bit shaggy :) So, we took him to the same place the other 3 kids have had their first haircuts, CJ's cuts for kids. They do a great job. Nickolas was so interested in what the stylist was doing that he didn't even need any toys to keep him occupied. He just sat there watching her in the mirror. We never even heard a peep out of him. The finished project; one cute happy kid with a tad bit shorter hair.

Still in love...

So it's August and I'm just trying to update our blog. Here are some pictures from July 4Th this year. We met up with Chris and Millie along with Mom and Cal up at the Lake house. We had a terrific weekend barbecuing, playing games (dominos till the wee hours of the morning) sitting in the spa, watching deer, boating (of course), went to the local 4Th of July party complete with food, music, games for the kids and pony rides, and we topped it off by watching fireworks from the boat and eating ribs... Does it get any better?! We are so grateful for our freedom and to live in such a wonderful Country ripe with opportunity. We ♥ the USA!!

bOwLiNg FuN!!

Lukas, Jack and Kyle munching on fries
Oh, the lovely glow in the dark bowling shoes
The Onstine bowlers
Mackenzie and her gal pal, Natalie

Trying to keep the kids cool during this HOT Summer has been a challenge, but we've found that the nice cool bowling alley is great! We've been bowling with friends, since each of the kids received free bowling cards from school this year! Thank you Breen!! The ball is probably as heavy as Lukas but he manages to get it down the lane and jumps up for high fives no matter how many pins he hits. He's a crack up to watch. Mackenzie goes for the fries with friends, and Jack was really upset because after bowling a strike he realized that he didn't get another turn for that frame... Funny :) We tried to tell him it was because he had already scored the most points possible but he didn't really care, he just wanted to keep bowling :) So funny. We are heading on a long road trip to Wyoming, so stay tuned for a travelogue of our Adventures!!

Reading will help you get your ZZZZZZZZ's

Every night since the kids were born we read before bed. Now that the kids are getting older, they read to us, then we read to them. So last night Lukas was patiently waiting for his turn... and well, it just took too long. Before we knew it, we heard someone snoring. We looked over to find Luke crashed on Randy's shoulder snoozing away! So cute ♥

What happened to all the baby wipes?!

"I'm innocent, really..."Hmmmm, where did all these baby wipes come from?!
Oh, it was YOU ♥
Nickolas

So, I was out of the room for a minute and well... that's all it takes, a minute. I came back into the room to find Nickolas pulling all the baby wipes from the container. Just happily plucking them one after the other and sucking the "juice" from them. YUCK! At least he's clean now!

Happy 6th Birthday Jacksen!!

Well... YAY!! we survived another Birthday party. We celebrated Jacksen's 6Th Birthday on the last day of school. It was the day before his actual birthday and it just made sense to do it then. We also joined forces with his good buddy Kyle, who also turned 6 (their birthdays are 2 days apart) We invited the entire kindergarten class since we were having the party right after school at the park (which is connected to the school, so they just walked straight over) The rest of the school didn't get out for another hour and a half so we had the park completely to ourselves.
It was GREAT! I made Pizza cakes (complete with candy toppings and white chocolate "cheese") to go with our theme of pizza and water guns.
** I've had a number of requests re: the pizza cake. I used a 14" round from wilton (takes 2 cake mixes) bake at 325 for 50-55 min. Used choc. frosting mixed with red food coloring. Use shaved white chocolate for the cheese. Use real fruit leather (in the produce dept) in cherry and use a small circle cookie cutter for the pepperoni, sliced fat black jelly beans for the olives, sliced up green jelly candies for the peppers, and white ones for onions. I halved malt balls and placed them like sausage. Any other fun candy toppings you can come up with. You can always get a pizza place to give or sell you a box and round cardboard to put the cake on. Enjoy!!
The pinatas were destroyed in a matter of minutes and all the 30+ kids scrambled to scoop up the loot!! It was a great ending to a wonderful school year for the kids. Kyle and Jack had a blast celebrating together with all their pals and we were glad the park was a great place to play and get soaked with water guns.
Happy Birthday Jack and Kyle!!

Queen for a day

Uncle Chris even stopped in for a visit and a game of Operation
Jack at School with the puppies

Queen for a day!

Nonnie and Mac at her class

My Mom is so great! She came up all the way from Vacaville so Mackenzie and Jack could take her puppies into their classrooms to show them to everyone. The students loved them of course, and had plenty of questions. My Mom even got to be the "royal reader" in Jack's class!! The Teacher dressed her up and they played royal music as she strolled down the red carpet while to kids bowed to her. It was really funny. She read the book "bed head" a family favorite that Jack picked out at home to bring. How fun for them to have their Nonnie come to school with them.
